Top 13 Coffee Shops in Denver

Coffee. Java. It makes the world (read: me) go round. So where in Denver should you go to get coffee? Here is our list of the 13 best coffee shops in the front range:

Crema

Crema is an artisanal coffeehouse; meaning that we look at coffee as both a craft and an art form. The coffee at Crema is made with either a French press or with a lever espresso. Highlight: rotating varieties of coffee beans from the best roasters around the country such as Dogwood, Handsome, and Sightglass.

Aviano Coffee

Cherry Creek spot featuring well-trained baristas and Intelligentsia beans.

Black Eye Coffee Shop

Highlands coffee house with exceptional pourover coffee made with Boxcar Roasters beans. Bonus: Trompeau Bakery baked treats. This totally Instagrammable Highlands area brewhouse is slaying the Denver area coffee game with its seriously strong roasts (they don't call it Black Eye for nothing), hip ambiance, and refreshing cafe menu. Dine in and take your pick from lunch menu items like avocado toast and fancy grilled cheese, all of which look good next to a piping hot cup of Black Eye's pour-over blend. A hip hop soundtrack and funky, reclaimed vintage aesthetic make Black Eye a cool and relaxing hang.

Happy Coffee

At Happy Coffee, roasts from such disparate lands as Portland, San Francisco and Seattle come together with the common goal of you drinking them. There are also some homemade pop tarts here that you can enjoy while sipping your latte, or espresso, or whatever other fancy coffee drink you ask the baristas to whip up for you. Highlight: Heart, Four Barrel and Sightglass beans being used on all coffee drinks and spectacular latte art— not to mention the best name for a coffee spot.

Metropolis Coffee

Highlight: Herkimer beans from Seattle used for all coffee drinks, comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. Bonus: there is a second location at 1661 Central Street.

Corvus Coffee

Multiple spots with house-roasted beans that are not only freshly roasted, but also fresh from coffee farms, grown in the current season.

Gather

Pair their rich, slow drip coffee from the single origin boutique producer Ninety Plus with Gather's home made scones, muffins and croissants, stir in a little witty conversation with the tech-y geniuses from the adjacent Galvanize, a digital startup hub, and who knows, you might just find yourself awake before 1 p.m.. Highlights: boutique Panama-raised coffee beans from Ninety Plus in chic environment. Bonus: fresh baked scones, muffins and croissants from pastry chef Deanna Scimio.

Stella’s Coffee Haus

Platt Park staple where you can do some serious studying and snuggling by one of the outdoor firepits in the winter.

Kaladi Coffee

University area staple with good solid coffee.

LosT Coffee

Cute coffee shop close to downtown Littleton.

Thump Coffee

Creative name, yummy snacks, great java.

Blue Sparrow

A Five-Points spot where you can take part of their tasting menu.

Little Owl

A LODO joint that is chic, strong, and delicious coffee.
