Questions to Ask a Potential Realtor

Deciding who to bring along on your real estate journey can feel overwhelming. We get it. Even if you don’t hire us to help you buy your next house, here are some Questions you should ask your potential realtor and The Tucker Team’s answers!

When are you available to show me properties?

Days, Nights, Weekends, even Holidays, The Tucker Team will schedule our showings around YOUR schedule and what days or times are most convenient for you.

Are you a member of the National Association of Realtors?

Let’s be honest, real estate agents sometimes have about as good as reputation as lawyers (sorry, Treana!), but as with any profession there are individuals that stand above the rest (looking at you, Treana!). If a real estate agent uses the title “Realtor” that means they are a member of the NAR and they are held to a higher standard. They are required to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and must subscribe to the high standards of the association.

We can bring the coffee to go look at houses. We might do decaf after 5.

How can you assure me I’m getting the newest listings that fit what I’m looking for?

Forget the “middle men” of Zillow, Redfin, etc. Those websites are not designed to help you find your next home. They are designed to capture your search patterns and information and sell it to the highest bidder… including agents that will pay those websites for your information in order to find more clients. The Tucker Team provides all our clients with direct access to the Metro Denver MLS. The moment that there are changes in MLS or new listings posted, you are immediately notified. You can’t get better than that.

(PSSSSSSST: see our blog post about accessing the MLS with The Tucker Team).

How long have you been a Realtor?

The Tucker Team has over 40 years of combined experience in helping Buyers and Sellers with their real estate needs.

How many Buyers and Sellers have you helped?

Every transaction has its own quirks and challenges, so experience matters. The more transactions an agent has experienced, the more they know about real estate. The Tucker Team has been involved in over 1,000 transactions in the course of their decades in the real estate industry.

While getting answers to the above questions is a start, we implore you to spend some time with any agent you’re considering hiring. You are going to be spending A LOT of time with that individual and you want to make sure it’s a great fit and partnership to help you find your next dream home. If we don’t say so ourselves, The Tucker Team is undoubtably that great fit and partnership for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your homebuying needs or to get a feel for our personalities. Our clients are our clients… but they also become our friends.
